The Elements - Green
Inspired by the architecture of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and his historic Farnsworth House, NOMAD is a mobile green and environmental learning center designed to be transported to and temporarily displayed in urban parks and accessible natural open space areas. Being designed by the architectural firm of Krueck + Sexton, in collaboration with the IIT School of Architecture, Nomad will contain resources and interactive features on nature, green living and sustainability. In addition to being a mobile learning center, the Nomad initiative includes the design and installation of Nomad green information display kiosks to be installed in various locations throughout the City of Chicago. Nomad and the kiosks are currently in the design stage and are scheduled to be revealed at GreenBuild 2010 in Chicago, and deployed in Chicago parks in 2011 throughout the year.
